Support Your Recovery and Increase Strength and Flexibity With Pilates and Yoga At The Oast

What is sports therapy?
Sports Therapy treatment can be a combination of clinical massage and soft tissue techniques, mobilisations, ultrasound therapy, taping, strength and conditioning, gait analysis and exercises to achieve the necessary outcome. Your sports therapist will carry out a full assessment of your injury or area of pain. They will then take a detailed medical history from you to help find the cause and compile a thorough and personalised treatment plan.
What is sports massage?
Your sports therapist may use sports and remedial massage to work the soft tissue of the body such as muscles, tendons, and connective tissues. They may use different manipulation techniques to reduce muscle pain, increase flexibility, improve your range of motion and re-balance your posture. Sports massage can work really well in conjunction with other therapies including osteopathy and physiotherapy.
What are mobilisations?
Mobilisations are a method used by your sports therapist to increase mobility in your joints. This in turn reduces pain from your active movements. Mobilisations are a pain-free technique to help improve blood flow to the area, which also helps speeds up recovery in the troubled area.
